Ok basically,

 

I had a reputable company install a refurbished new clutch kit, and i have a 90 day warrantee....

 

the problem(s)

 

1. It is hard to shift gears with the stick, and I mean hard. it started out fine, but has gotten worse and worse over the last week and a half.

 

2. clutch pedal has about 3-4 in. play before it has ANY resistance.

 

3. in order to shift into reverse, I have to turn the car off, put it into reverse, start the car back up, drive away. Otherwise, the gear GRINDS and i cant get into reverse cuz it keeps spinnin?

have you tried ajusting the clutch linkage?

trust me.... ^^^^^ he is right. and if you can't adjust it enough then the cable might be streached to the point of soon breaking.

and just so you know...the spec for free play on the clutch pedal is 3/8 of an inch I believe (so that should tell you that you ae waaayyyyyy off)

Might also help to know what vehicle. They may also have used the wrong clutch components: Depending on model, I believe that there is a difference between FWD and 4WD (probably due to the tranny).

Could be the clutch cable stretching, like subeman suggested, but if it looks ok, you've got a warrantee - take it back in and have them fix it. SOMEthing's wrong, and it's most likely something they did.
