Havnfun2
I have a 1984 Subaru Turbo.. 4 Wheel Drive..fuel injected ..2 door..Automatic.. Engine size 1.8 Anyone out there have a fuel pump for this vehicle or have access to a fuel pump at a parts store at a resonable price??? Unable to find one local for fuel injected for less than $138. They do have one for this year car...for the price of $64..for those in need of one NOT fuel injected. Your Help Is Much Appreciated! GeneralDisorder
Any pump from an EA82 Turbo will work - see your local pull-a-part for details. Should be less than $20 for a used unit. Do a search on here for Ford Fuel Pump - there's some reasonably priced units that will do the job. GD
daeron
Here, I went ahead and did the search because i wanted to re read all that info myself. Best thread Other Good Thread #1 Other Good Thread #2 that shows you the how to, the part number, and plenty of pics. Youve got the option of going to a junkyard and finding a Ford (mostly pickup trucks, but there was some talk about a crown vic i think? i dont recall, pickups are a plenty anyhow) and having 34666759375 of them to choose from instead of only one rusted out burned up shell of a soob for a change... and you could get it for 1030 bux, whatever your yard charges.. or go to napa and get it for what is again a debatable price, but far less than 138 for the real soob piece. the beauty of it is that it mounts into the stock bracket like a charm, you just need to make sure you plumb it well so the lines dont kink. Its best to get a hardline 90 degree elbow, apparently, then put your fuel line to the engine onto that. but its a simple transplant. using ford parts on a japcar?!!FrankenSoob! GeneralDisorder
instead of only one rusted out burned up shell of a soob for a change... Except in his case, if he goes to a pull-a-part he will likely see about 3 dozen soobs, many with the pump he needs. We here on the left coast have the pick of soobs. Last trip to the yard there was at least 30 EA82's in just one of my local yards, and 4 EA81's too. GD

GD heh Look, lemme give him the benefit of the doubt!! just because you folks are lucky doesnt mean i cant indulge the empathy of all those other souls out there who suffer from my difficulties... :- ) and dont call it the left coast. i am very pro east coast.. and i dont like the connotation that your "left coast" has about my "east coast". Its not right. if that made sense.
WoodsWagon
Our east coast has a penchant for rust and no respect for the jap cars, so the rustbucket's go straight to the crusher. Makes for a very small used subaru parts supply. The west coasters are spoiled rotten. I'm in wyoming right now, the J/Y's have rust free EA71's and pristine EA81's in them. As junk. You West coasters don't comprehend the problem's we have. I could send you pictures of the 2 EA82's in my junkyard, the're so rusty that most of the part's aren't worth using. GeneralDisorder
I feel for ya - best to find a deal on one out here, and ship it over. Shouldn't cost much frankly - 600 - 800 depending on the shipping company (maybe more now with gas - IDK). Or get a plane ticket and drive back in one - filled with parts. We have plenty - we won't miss a GL with a trailer full of parts. GD
daeron
heh, try being a DATSUN guy on the east coast... in south florida, no less, with ocean less than ten miles away in one direction, and no more than 15 miles away in any direction but north!!! i cannot immediately recall the last time i found a 280Z applicable to mine in a junkyard. its been a couple years. (actually, 260/280, 74-76 is what im lookin for, IDEALLY, somewhat any 240/260/280 70-78.. FAIRLY wide range of total modelbase..) as for soobs, i see enough to keep my car around... but not enough to have seen another GL-10, or any EA-82s with 4wd other than the pushbutton auto setup....or ANY ea82Ts.. I wasnt even sure they turbo'd em until i found the forum..
