August 20, 200619 yr Every since I bought my 93 Legacy (1999) my blower switch has only worked on high. Is it possible to just replace the switch? Also, is it normal for it to blow a small amount of heat when the switch is all the way to the right (off?), when the heat button is engaged?
August 20, 200619 yr I don't see why the switch wouldn't be replaceable. A small bit of air (heat, if the temperature control is set there) will blow through the vents, due to the air being pushed into the intake. At least i guess this is what causes it, as it doesn't do it when parked and does it more the faster you go.
August 20, 200619 yr there is nothing wrong with the switch. Get a manual or do a search on this. There is a resistor block in the air box under the glove box. High speed is a direct feed to the blower motor. Lower speeds go through resisters. You need this block. Buy a new one, as used ones that work are few and far between. nipper
August 20, 200619 yr you can also repair the old one you have to disassemble it and resolder the spring thing, its a simple thing to do, i did it

I have a Chiltons, but don't see this info in there. Oh, and is that something I can pick up at an auto parts store or does it come from the dealer? Thanks!
