August 21, 200619 yr No, maybe really short distances with the F.W.D. fuse in but I would not. i have a tow bar and i want to know if i can tow my 99 legacy with it thanks
August 21, 200619 yr This should help. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=62375 Manual Transmission: All Wheel Drive vehicles can be towed with all four wheels on the ground or with all four wheels off the ground on a trailer but towing an AWD vehicle must never be attempted with only two wheels on the ground or two wheels on a dolly. Front Wheel Drive vehicles can be towed with all four wheels on the ground in neutral or with the two front wheels off the ground. Automatic Transmission AWD vehicles cannot be towed with any wheels on the ground. The vehicle can only be towed on a trailer with all 4 wheels off the ground and the transmission in park.
August 21, 200619 yr I should have asked, I just assumed it was an automatic. I dont know anything about how the standards are to be towed. i thought that the manuals could be towed with all four on the ground
August 21, 200619 yr I remember a few years ago when someone told me they towed thier five speed Subie flat behind a motor home. I had always thought that was a no no but I guess you can do it. With the automatics you's be safest dolly towing by disconnecting the driveshat.
