Cool but still not aware off what it does? Guages? What. But looks cool.

compass, outside temp and barometer

Yea it is cool; How hard is it to intall. I know it goes where the clam shell is on my '99 Forester, but whats involved in hooking up the electrical?

I wonder if there is a way to make it show coolant temp instead of outside one, and oil pressure instead of athmospheric :)

its not hard at all do install it comes with the harness to connect between the radio and the car, and that harness is a "plug and play", the only "difficult part" is the cable for the temp sensor in front of the car by the grill, which wasnt hard for me but it may be for some people

Thanks:

Could you elaborate a little on the temp sensor? Do I have to run a line through the firewall all the way to the front, or is everthing already there, and all I need to do is connect it up ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi john

Yes you have to run the supplied harness through the firewall for the sensor that goes by the grile. all you need to do is to pop the ruber plug right above the brake pedal on the firewall and that will be right under the brake booster, so just shove the wire throught there and you'll see it in the engine compartment then pull it carefully untill enought is needed to route and reach the center part of the wood latch.

More info is here. this guy did it with his WRX and it works the same for us, just the unit placement for the legacies is right uner the radio.

BTW it is not a major mod. to do, if you can swap radios you can do this. :-p

good luck and let me know how it goes, i'll post pics of the installed harness soon

cheers
