Ran thru puddle car quick on me(98 sub legacy 2.2). Now car starts great but stalls when put in drive. AT light flashes upon start up. HELP?

I wonder if the torque converter might be a problem. Might not be dis engaging and it just causes the engine to stall. Maybe some water got into the TCU or the ECU. How big off a puddle?

get under the car and make sure all the wires are still connected.

When it stalls does it sputter out or does the engine just stop spinning. If its the later the TC is stuck in lockup.
