stiffer springs, stock height? '98 imp wagon

Featured Replies

so the gf's '98 impreza wagon is slumping in the rear... time for new springs... I don't want to lower it, as most aftermarket springs tend to do...

I could just get some stock replacements...

but, since we are always carrying things/dogs around I'd like to get something a little stiffer, but not insanely sporty as it still needs to retain its utility...

going to be putting kyb gr2's on it at the same time I replace the springs... figure I'll replace all the springs, since I'll be replacing all the struts...

any suggestions?

I think there are a couple aftermarket options, the only one I can think of off hand is King Springs but you have to order from Australia. I tried PepBoys, Carquest, etc., but no one had aftermarket springs for my '96 Legacy so I went OE, not all that expensive, but not stiffer though...

who in australia sells them and ships to the us? and how much are they?

the only person I know of with king springs bought them in Australia and then brought them back in his luggage. Although that's not saying much I suppose.

Ground Control sleeves could do that if you ordered the right lengths and rates I suppose. Tein apparantly makes a gravel-tech spring. Maybe that's stiffer and doesn't drop the car as much. Well that's all I can come up with.

is there another models springs that will fit? or are all the other stiffer ones lower?
