October 12, 200619 yr This is a rust hole on the "frame" rail just rear of where it curves up by the front driver side wheel. These are both of the same spot, just different angles. The other side dosent have any rust. I use this car for commute and a 30 mile per day bulk rack newspaper route. I live in CO so they dont salt the roads, should I be very worried about this?
October 12, 200619 yr Yea they don't use salt out here but they do use magcholoride (or however you spell it) which no matter what they say it eats cars just as bad as salt if not worse. Doesn't look too horrible I would get under there and clean it up as good as possible and then put some sort of protection on it (por15, bed liner, or just some rust-olem paint). If it's real bad, you can always cut it out and weld in some better pieces from the JY. The parking garage at my work pours tons of mag on the ramps etc, made a noticeable difference in the rust growth on my RX over last winter. Made sure I sprayed it off at least once a week and still ate at my car quite a bit.
October 12, 200619 yr Your pictures are waaay close, but I don't think that is on anything structural. Clean it up and seal it somehow like the previous poster mentioned. Pour15 would be your best bet.
October 12, 200619 yr Author Sorry, I had to take them while the car was on the ground and with my cell phone. that is good to hear that my car isnt going to break in half soon.

Not necessarily, best 2 cell phone picture guess is that it isn't structural. The truth could be far from that... I would get some better pictures and more opinions before getting too happy.

October 17, 200619 yr What is Pour15 and where do you find it? Talk to a local body shop. I don't know if its available to just anyone, but it very well may be, they will know. That's why I love having a body shop contact.
