October 19, 200619 yr I recently swapped the motor, harness and computer from a 92 loyale (N/A) into my 87 GL-10 turbo wagon. I totally cleaned and resealed the engine before it went in, but now apparently, it has rejected it's new rear main seal. It runs and drives like a dream, but is now losing a little bit of oil. Any suggestions on the easiest way to get back to the seal. Would it be easier to slide the tranny (5 spd) back out of the way, or should I pop the motor out again? Thanks for any input... Cheers!
October 19, 200619 yr I'll let you know in a few days. I'm pulling my motor this weekend ('92 Loyale) for a full reseal. -=Russ=-
October 20, 200619 yr If you've got a good way to lift it, pulling the motor is WAAAAAY easier in my experience. I know lots of people like to drop the tranny, but I would much rather spend that 6 hours or so standup up than crawling around on a cold, wet floor.
October 20, 200619 yr I have to agree - if you have a hoist, pulling the engine is easier. If you don't have a hoist..... get one, or a big peice of lumber, a chain, and a couple big friends. GD
