October 20, 200619 yr I cant seem to get the air out of my cooling system. Im using the ea81 radiator. Any ideas?
October 20, 200619 yr I'm going to have a bung welded into the top of mine for a bleeder of some sort. It doesn't help you now, of course.... maybe park with the car tilted so that the radiator cap is at the higher end?
October 20, 200619 yr Didn't Setright mention something a long time ago about filling the cooling system on the EJ motors through the upper radiator hose? Maybe you could take the upper rad hose just barely loose and the air would come out....just a thought...

October 20, 200619 yr How is the ea81 radiator setup in comparison to the ej22? Without that bleeder screw on the ej22 radiator, it'd be very tough to get all the air out. Can you tilt the radiator at all?
October 21, 200619 yr Author Actually I was thinking of doing that with the lift just lift the left side of the car gently so the rad cap is the highest point. Ive got a spill free funnel at the shop so it wont just pour out all over the place.
October 22, 200619 yr thay make this really cool tool. it pulls a vacuume on the whole cooling system so there is no air in it. then you hook a hose up to it and it pulls the coolant into the system. no air bubbles ever. here is one from Mac tools. but you can fine them elsewhere https://www.mactools.com/portal/site/mactools/menuitem.6c9db894a3743751f735c110f070c3a0/?vgnextoid=fdd183c3ee04d010VgnVCM100000426fa8c0RCRD&vgnextchannel=231221e5315fc010VgnVCM100000104d840aRCRD&vgnextfmt=default i wont do a cooling system repair without mine... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
