05 Outback radio/HVAC lights out?

Featured Replies

The lighting for the radio and HVAC went out for about 3 days. The radio and HVAC worked fine, just the lights were out. All other dash lights worked as expected. After a few days, the lights became operative again. I documented this with the dealer but they were unable to reproduce. Anyone else have a similar problem or idea of what posssessed my car?

I THINK there is a 'trick' in my wife's OBW that will chage the brightness by holding a button in for 3 seconds or somthing. Sorry I'm not more specific but my memory is not perfect on this and we've never used the function. I think I went through the owner's manual after we bought the car and did the routine once.

I dunno - coulod just be an intermittent connector somewhere.

In my 05 the lights for the radio went out, then on, then out for good. The dealer replaced the whole radio.
