November 10, 200619 yr I made some blocks. I made them out of 3" X 1" blocks that were 1/8 inch thick. I welded two together and then welded a 1/4 inch plate on top of them. Think that is strong enough? BW
November 10, 200619 yr I think it would do for looks, okay on light trails, but probabley bend and twist under serious conditions. Just my opinion though.
November 10, 200619 yr box in the sides and it will probably be plenty strong.... how you plan on attaching it with the center of the blocks like that? thats the biggest issue I can see. As a rule of thumb if your just using rectangular tubing we use 1/4" thick steel for most of the blocks that have any strain whatsoever put on them, but thinner metal can be used if engineered right. To have a good lift the cost of it is going to come from sheer amount of material or time spent engineering it or a mix of the two.
