So I picked up a 86/87 wagon with part-time 4wd dual-range. (FWD, 4HI, 4LO)

I have a wrecked RX with the FT4WD dual-range. (HI, LO)

 

I'd like to use the RX tranny, but its linkage parts are bent.

I figure the 5-speed stuff will be identical.

Do the D/R linkages interchange? Will I be able to use 2/3 of the PT's range on motion?

Anybody tried this?

It will work.

yep, I've got a PT4WD linkage hooked up to the RX tranny in my loyale. and it works fine, the dual range linkage must be longer on the RX though, because the handle isn't in the right place...it works fine, but looks a little goofy.

 

I can touch the 5MT knob to the Dual Range knob in 4th lo....
