Anybody know how the final drive ratios compare on the mid 80's 5spds and autos? e82t's specificially

As far as I know, all turbo's are 3.70, manual or autospastic, n/a manual's are 3.90, and most likely so are the auto's

Actually, I think all autos are 3.70, anybody know for sure?

fact in my units:

4EAT is 3.70 (EA82T 1988 wagon) 4wd

5spd S/R 3.90 w/rear diff lock 4wd

2WD MT?

2WD auto?

 

I can't be factual on the rest because in the FSM book 1 i distinctly remember a listing of the turbo 2WD 5spd having a different ratio the the non-turbo 5spd

and the 3AT supposedly has a 3.70 ratio as well.

3AT also comes in 3.90. I've got an '87 GL wagon that used to have a bad auto trans, but I just got done swapping a 5-speed D/R into it, but luckily it had the 3.90 rear end so that was one fewer thing I had to swap.

zanny dook's wagon has a 3.9 4x4 automatic, spfi. the only one i have seen, the rest were 3.7

 

the pushbutton 5spd has a 3.7

 

dual range had 3.9

 

FT4WD xt6 5spds have a 3.9

 

rx ft4wd dual range has a 3.7 gear
