87 gl fuel pump

Featured Replies

i have been lurking here for a while, and would have to say this forum is a god send. all the information i have needed has been obtained within minutes. thank you.

i have an 87 gl spfi. i'm getting power to the fuel pump and it warms up, but does not pump. can i clean it out somehow or is this what happens when the pump is done for?

any input would be great

thanks in advance

Tibia

You might be able to thwack it with a hammer and get it to run, but it sounds like the motor is shot in it. Search for "Ford fuel pump" here on the board - there's a ranger frame mounted pump that works and is pretty cheap.

thanks for the quick reply

ya i have already checked everything in the fuel system and it led to the pump. it doesnt make any noise or do anything it just gets warm to the touch.

i'm pretty sure its done for, so i guess i'm off to find a cheap sollution.

i will check out the ford pump.

it really sucks trying to find parts in so.cal. the funny thing is once i

get her running i move back to a mountain town where these cars are everywhere and parts are everywhere and cheap.

thanks again
