December 4, 200619 yr I'll add my two cents simply because, hey, Its not every day I agree with GD, but HE IS RIGHT:banana: Not every Japanese car is a "rice burner" and if you think that, then you simply do not know what one is. A Rice burner is a car that simply, has more show then go. Basically you see mods for looks over function. A stock subaru has no mods, its not rice. Take that same Subaru, hack/rust the muffler off and put a metal wing on the rear deck, and ding, its rice. Take a different sedan, drop an EJ Turbo into it, put a hood scoop on, not rice. Rice is like redneck, not all Ford trucks are redneck, but add a gun rack and you are there its all in the mods
December 4, 200619 yr Author and your saying no mods.. but dropping another engine it.. wow thats not a mod is it..?? huh. wierd..
December 4, 200619 yr What he is referring to is "tasteful" mods. 5 lug swaps, rear disc brakes, EJ turbo motor swaps. Its when you try and put a STi wing on a stock impreza.
December 4, 200619 yr Basically, what kbd says, is mods that have really no purpose at all, is considered rice. "Performance Taillights", they're rice. A) Altezzas don't really look good, They're just a waste of money because they really don't offer anything over the stock lights. An engine swap is a mod, but it has a purpose. More powA. Rice you see mods that only make the car look fast, when the car really isn't. Get your rice terminology correct here. Just because our cars are japanese doesn't mean we should do what the other japanese 'street racer' boys are doing. I don't want altezzas on any of my stuff.
December 4, 200619 yr My definition of 'rice burner' would have been something that 'burnt-rice'. eg.. The opposite of rice. Muscle car and whatnot. But thats just me. I do like the 'idea' of aftermarket taillights, depends on what they look like though.
