Radiator bleed screw

Featured Replies

Hi all:

I managed to lose the bleed screw from my Legacy radiator. Long story. Embarassing and sticky too.

Is this something I should be able to get from a Subaru dealer, or will pieces/parts shops have this available? I've been looking around online and it doesn't seem to come up in any parts lists.

Should I be talking to a salvage yard straight away in the morning?

Thanks a million.

Stephanie

If your dealer is any good, they should have those in stock, as they used the same one throughout the 90's. It might also be possible to substitute a bolt of the correct size with a rubber washer on it, but you'd have to try that to see.

Pretty standard part, might even be on the shelf at the parts store, most likely in the Help section.

On my legacy I used a oil drain pug to replace the plastic one that cracked, with a rubberwasher undersneath. M10x1I think the thread on mine. Local Ace hardware had a great selecton of them, better than the parts store.

Thanks all - I got one from my local dealer for $10. Feels like I just payed a stupidity tax.

You got off easy my friend. My taxes on that are a whole lot higher.
