2001 Forester

Featured Replies

Well the 1995 Subaru Impreza is no more, and I have learned if you hit a bus, no matter how much of a tank you think your car is...The bus wins! After sliding through an intersection and doing a header into the side of a bus, my poor little green machine was laid to rest with 407,00kms. Now carless I have given up on getting an impreza since I can't find one in my price range. I just discovered a Forester online the other day though, and I figure that is about as close as I am going to get...

The only thing is I know nothing about the Forester (not that I knew much about the impreza, other than it can leak oil gas transmission fluid and coolant from the water pump and still run as if it were new...well almost). SO anyway I have found a 2001 forester with 188,000kms on it, that apparently does not burn oil or leak anything, at this point that is all I know, can anyone give me the scoop on this car, what I should watch for any known issues with this year etc.? The price is fairly good..I think about 6700.00cdn

Thanks in advance

Denise

Rear wheel bearings. Otherwise make sure the tires match, drive in figure 8's and thats it. If its a clutch try to start off from 3rd gear, it should stall. If it doesnt means there is a clutch job cooming up.

nipper

My 01 has incredibly obnoxious plastic squeeks and rattles in the back end:mad:

Other than that it has been a good car.
