strut tower lift block input

Featured Replies

I am trying to decide how to make the strut tower lift blocks for my BRAT.

I am putting on XT6 hubs so I am going to use an old set of OBS struts.

After re-drilling the strut towers to accomodate the OBS strut, I connected the top hole of my hub to the bottom hole of the strut.. The angle of the a-arm is pretty much level so I will need to make some sort of strut extender.

Overall I am putting in a 5 inch lift. The strut for the OBS is about an inch longer than the EA81 strut. I am not sure how much stiffer it is.

Should I wait for the engine and tranny to be put in before I make the strut block or should I make one according to the angle that I want the a-arm to be at unloaded?

Thanks

BW

i would really think that you need it to be "loaded".......ya know, give a couple shots of whiskeyand some beer:lol:i would think that you would need to load it so that your camber can be adjusted, unless you have a way to adjust it.........cheers,brian

sounds like you need a 4" block , maybe stick a chunk of 4" wood in there and after the engines all hooked if you like how it looks go 4"
