The white and green diagnostics connectors are under the hood, just above the brake booster. These have been in use very frequently as of late on my '94. idosubaru
on an XT model, you don't do anything. if the CEL is on, you pop the trunk and the LED in the computer flashes the code, without connecting anything. the loyale doesn't work like this? do i have to use the connectors to be shown the code? hooziewhatsit
correct, when the CEL is on, you can read the flashing codes. The ECU is right under the steering column. You can usually see the light by compressing the foam on the kick panel and looking straight down the steering column. There may be a cable group in the way also. The first time you might need to remove the kick panel, just to see where it is. After that you shouldn't need to remove it. -Dave
calebz
Gary, please forgive me. I couldn't resist. SEARCH N00B!! http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49918 Use the 88+ directions and code list
idosubaru
Use the 88+ directions and code list checking the codes wasn't the problem, by now i have most of the popular ones memorized for the EA/ER series stuff. i need to know where the ECU was in the loyale. now..if the set up is different...like the ECU doesn't blink the codes like the XT's then i would be confused no matter what, search or no search. i'm headed out now to look for it.
