Safest car ...

Featured Replies

actually I am....the 2005's got bad ratings on the side crash test

Pole test or simiulated car from the side?

They re-thought the folding of the curtain airbags on the early Legacy models, didn't deploy fast enough. That would give bad ratings in a side on of either sort.

Actually, I thought that was only because they had the side curtain bags installed backwards. There was a recall on that for the first few batches of of the 05.

With top crash test ratings, electronic stability control for added security and an inherently stable design, the Legacy comes out on top.

I think it mostly has to do with the underlined phrase.

The 'safest' wreck is the one avoided.

Airbags save lives. AWD saves airbags. 'nuff said.
