February 12, 200719 yr After today's wheelin', I'm considering putting a front bumper onto my EA82. I could fab a front bumper, but does anyone know of any front bumper would be a direct fit with perhaps some modification on the mounting? Maybe something off an import pickup truck? Thinking about modifying the rear as well... Also... I'm looking at the car from underneath.. it doesn't really look like there are any good locations to put rocksliders. Cliffnotes: Fab or buy front bumper w/ winch location? Rear bumper? Is it possible to build rocksliders? Thanks.
February 12, 200719 yr first of all...it is possible to build anything.second of all, like my avatar, bumpers can be made to fit.i got mine from a mazda b2500.made my own brackets though.just take a measuring tape to the junkyard. i have been thinking about rocksliders for a while. the only option i can think of is the semi-framerail underneath being sandwiched between two mouinting pieces. i was thinking of a one piece for both sides just for strength.but who knows.cheers, brian
February 12, 200719 yr I've looked at making my own rockers, what i have done so far is cut out some sheetmetal on the original rockers below the doors in the unibody and will weld some 2x5 tubing in place. I might upload some pictures later, but pretty much anything you do will require some fabrication on your part.
