timing belts 98 Forester

Featured Replies

Have 98 forester with 184,000 miles bought at 107,000. I don't know if timing

belts have been done. I want to replace in next couple of days, What is

a good manual to use and where can i find it. Thanks

use the search button under the newer generation forum. you'll find all sorts of information. look for links to the "endwrench" site, that's Subaru's website for technical information and they offer excellent timing belt change details.

Excellent. Do you know all the stuff to check while you're doing the timing belt? Like water pump&gasket, front cam seals, front crank seal, reseal oil pump, replace toothed idler near water pump, use new tensioner or make sure the one in there is in good condition to last another 105k, reseal oil pump&replace pump discharge to block o-ring, etc.
