April 14, 200718 yr Okay I made a big mistake of overtorquing(sp) my head bolts. I now have the correct specs. The car has not been started do I need to replace the bolts and headgasket. They were torqued to 70lbs. Thanks for any help!!
April 14, 200718 yr I would think you need to replace the gaskets is you loosen the bolts from a higer torque valve. But someone else may disagree. April 14, 200718 yr You need to replace the gaskets. You have substantially over torqued the gaskets and damaged them. The bots will be fine, but the HG are scrap. nipper
April 15, 200718 yr Author Thnaks for the confirmation thats what my gut was telling me but the wallet was saying no. I will buy new bolts and gaskets Monday
