I am looking to buy a set of axle. There are these 2 companies. Any advice?

some members of xt6.net posted very recently issues of leaking grease and other issue from cvaxle.com, i'd avoid them.

 

i would choose MWE...he has 4 of my axles as we speak.

Who's MWE? I'm looking for a new CV axle vendor myself. I'm one who has had troubles with cvaxles.com.

they rebuild subaru axles and have an excellent reputation. there is a link to them through the CCR website.

do an internet search for MWE axles and they'll come up. they have also posted their information here on USMB. he just finished 4 for me today.

he now has XT6 axles in stock and ready to go.

FWIW, I won't use any axles but Marshall's on my own Subarus.

Got a price quote from MWE. $75 per axle plus core charge and shipping $60 for both axles. Very close to OEM rebuild. Does MWE offer any discount for members here?

Did you tell him you were from the USMB? The link that Gary posted said, in the very first line, that shipping was free to USMB members.

 

Oh, and you all do know that Subaru's axle reman program has been completely shut down at one point and now only rebuilds axles for certain types of Subarus, right?

the free shipping to USMB members was a temporary promotion that has now expired, the date is on the same page.

Poo. Oh well, as long as they're good axles, it's worth it. Lifetime warranty or not, it's a pain replacing cheap crappy axles over and over again.
