HALP!!! weber gasket Q.....

Featured Replies

i tried a search and w/the angles of pics i just couldn't tell. do i need to put that plastic 1/4 inch thick or so o-ring gasket type thing thats between the hitachi and manifold back on between the weber adapter and manifold? the adaptor seems a little loose, barely detectable movement. would doubling the gaskets work just as well? or do i need that piece. i thinks i may have tossed it.

well, i'm gonna try doubling the gasket. should make it thick enough to stop the movement of the adaptor plate.

actually, on the EA81 they fit just fine. my gasket was too thin so the adaptor wasn't seating firmly. thanks tho. now i just gotta figure out why it won't idle. dies on me. i still haven't switched out the 3 prong fuel filter for the 2 yet, so i'm hoping that will have a positive effect.

u might still have a vacuum leak. The base gasket shouldnt have any play to it when you tighten it down (in other words it should seat firm all around). Did you check to see that both surfaces are flat?

somethings up. just keep going over it i guess.... the plate is sitting rock solid now so i dunno whats up.

maybe some junk stuck in one of the stud holes making it impossible to tighten down the adaptor?
