June 9, 200718 yr I want to lift my EA82 on the cheap so I can run slightly larger tires with better tread.Evently I plan to run a 6" lift and 31's but right now I need more agressive tires, like 26".I plan to lift the back end with accord front springs. But what can I do for the front short of creating spacers.looking more for springs to lift it.. Now for the axle end of the question. How do I go about making my stock rear axles have DOJs on both ends. Also Can I replace the inner DOJs on the front axles with the rear DOJs to help so Im not breaking axles with the front end suspension lift... Thanks in advance.
June 9, 200718 yr do you already have 2WD rear struts? due to differences in mounting, the 2WD struts are longer than the 4WD. so if you install them on a 4WD vehicle they will lift it. or convert to air suspension! ha ha!!
June 9, 200718 yr Author so 2wd rear struts and accord springs. That gonna be like 100 bucks the the junkyard around here charges for the complete strut. And Pull and Save is a mere 2 hours away...What do I do for the front?
June 9, 200718 yr not sure what your options are on the front. have you looked in the off road forum at all? those guys do all sorts of things. i really hate the way the front EA82 struts mount.
June 10, 200718 yr so 2wd rear struts and accord springs. That gonna be like 100 bucks the the junkyard around here charges for the complete strut. And Pull and Save is a mere 2 hours away...What do I do for the front? The shocks are about $50 apice new, so I'd buy them.
June 10, 200718 yr Author plus the time and gas money to drive up there...wait what are you talking about?
June 10, 200718 yr I'm looking at my front struts, and *think* I can cut the bottom off of an old strut, swell the top of it in a muffler pipe expander, put a spacer inside, and slide a new strut inside the top (that I swelled up), clamping the two together with a motorcycle muffler clamp (the band style). The amount of overlap necessary would require careful removal of the brackets on the working strut (the mount and the brake line retainer).
June 11, 200718 yr That's great, until you come off a jump or something, hit full extension, and pull them apart.
