It makes a crazy niose when I make a sweeping turn? what does the rear wheel bering look like?:Flame:

"what does the rear wheel bering look like?"

Your year Forester had an issue with the rear wheel

bearings.

The fix was to replace them with Legacy

wheel bearings.

The Impreza (same platform) also suffered this malady.

Does the noise come from the rear, middle or the front

of the vehicle?

> front = CV joint

> middle = torque bind

> rear = wheel bearing

Hope this helps?

My 93 Impreza rear wheel bearings going out, when you say swap out with Legacy wheel bearings, are you meaning just putting Legacy bearings in or is there more to swap out to make this change?

OK, just thought it might be similar to Impreza's, will probably just replace with Imreza bearings. Thanks for the reply.:)

93's differ in some respects to later model EJ drivetrain parts, all are not interchangeable. i'm not saying the bearings won't work, but don't assume this info applies to your year. the parts suppliers *should* have adequate info on that by now though?

if i needed rear bearings on an impreza i'd swap in an entire hub assembly and do a rear disc brake swap at the same time. i don't even need wheel bearings for an excuse, i'm converting my brakes now!

Good advice, I will have to look into what rear ends are compatable with the 93 Impreza.

Is it possible that a front wheel bearing would also cause noise in the front? I just replaced a loud rear wheel bearing on my 99 forester as well. Now that the rear is quiet again, I notice what I believe to be noise caused by a failing front left wheel bearing. It's the same wump, wump at slower speeds and a roar at highway speeds (not necessarily when making "sweeping turns").
