July 4, 200718 yr i have an Ea81 block downstairs that ive been working on for a while and it was time to wriggle the oil pump off. well i was making good progress on removing the oil pump and i heard it break free and i thought to myself "yes"!!!!!!! but i really just broke it in half and i dont know how to get the other half out. im splitting the case and 86bratman said that the remains inside the block should just slip out. should it? (by the way i was using a rubber mallet)

(by the way i was using a rubber mallet) yeah, it'll come out. I did the same thing, and used a prybar to wedge and work it back and forth, while still in the car
