Battery life -- record?

Featured Replies

I just replaced the original battery in my 1998 Forester, purchased in Nov. 1997. More than 9-1/2 years. Has anyone beaten that?

It was a Panasonic.

We did 11.3 years with the original battery. Probably still worked fine to. Just we changed it because we were stuck on the side of the road with a dead battery, and we bought a new battery that was charged and drove home. Where is that battery you ask? I don't know :-p

my 83 F-150 had the same battery in it for about 12 years. It was one of those older Goodyear batts from way back when.

Not a Subaru, but my friend had a battery from like a 79 Camaro that we replaced last week.

I did an oil change on a 96 Camry that had the original battery in it...

But it also had 43,000 miles on it, and the oil change sticker had the current mileage for when it needed to be changed, but the date was like October of last year :dead:

I had a 1969 VW Bug that kept its original battery for better than 11 years and about 125,000 miles. Nothing much over seven years in subsequent cars, however.

The original battery in our old 88 SkyHawk lasted 12 years. However the battery in my father- in- law's 05 Volvo S60 crapped out after only 2 years.

Seems to be more luck then how much you pay.

Well, gee-- Obviously you all have beaten me. But I'm still pretty happy about it.
