I'm finally home in PA and with working internet.

Found this little guy in Connecticut for $100. Needs a fuel pump, battery and some brake work. (I think) Not to mention some body help. But, it's an 82 GL dual range 4x4 with only 97k and the engine starts right up if given gas through the carb. It has the plaid seats and power windows?!? I'll start hunting for parts for it soon. Right now I'm trying to get the fuel pump situation sorted out. This car has sat for years and was last inspected in 1992. Any advice on restoration? Stuff to watch out for? Any advice would be helpful as I begin with my new toy.

Frame rust anyone?

Yeah, it might be pretty solid, even with a lot of rust on the outer body, but you had better check the "frame" for serious rot. i.e. check all of the points at which the running gear or suspension bolts up to the unibody. Pay close attention to the torsion bar mounts in the back and the top mounts for the rear struts.

While you're dealing with that fuel pump issue make sure to check over all your hard and soft fuel lines for rot. They could be pretty destroyed or completely gunked up at this point, too. Same goes with the brakes...

Anyway, definitely a cool find for up in the NE. Looks like it'll be lots of fun!

nice, looks like it will be a fun project for you.

when you get that restored and i finish my brat, we should get together and have a restored suby meet. lol/
