So here's the thing, I need to replace my fuel pump on my 1986 Subaru GL, however I don't know what I am up to!! ANY hints would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Look under your car, near the gas tank. Either on the drivers or passenger side. Not sure what side its on in a EA82, but you cant miss it. It'll be next to the fuel filters.

are you sure it is the fuel pump, ? if iam right it is on the passanger side , right in front of the right rear tire [ outside] very easy to replace , advance auto says 100 bucks ,auto zone 200 bucks :wave:

Yes, it is located on the passenger side, right in front of the tire. It has a bracket with three bolts. I bought a brand new Subaru Fuel Pump for my 87 subaru gl carbed wagon from the dealer for $100. When you unbolt the bracket, you will see three nuts holding the fuel pump to the bracket (10 mm). Take the nuts off, unclip it, and your done. Installation is the reverse.
