Adjustable camber

Featured Replies

Last night I had a dream that while driving the 3-door coupe, I found a knob on the dash that allowed me to adjust the camber while I was driving. I could keep the tires straight up for take off and braking traction, then crank the knob to grip through the turns. It was incredible, that coupe on stock tires was handling better than the SVX Racer on 12" wide tires.

Unfortunately I woke up before I was able to get out of the car and find out how it worked :(

i think they have medication for these types of obsessions, if you find out what's it called let me know!

maybe if we all write energy suspension they will at least start makeing urethane kits for subarus to stiffen things up instead of the rubber bushings. not the same but every bit helps.

Well, not to shoot down your thought, but whenever you get a company to make something that we would consider "worthwhile" for our old subarus, they always want an arm, leg, liver, kidney(which they may or may not get you all drugged up, take while your out of it, and leave you a help message written in lipstick on your chest while you chill in a bathtub of ice), and your first born child. Now I'm not trying to say that they wouldn't make the stuff, but they usually want a big order to start producing them. I think Will(WJM, here on the forums) had found something a little while back where he did a group buy on some urethane bushings. Not many people order because they don't have the kind of money that the comanies are asking.

OH, it wasn't a serious suggestion. It has always just surprised me the lack of aftermarket for subarus, considering the huge ammount available for some of the weird crap cars out there.

the tooling costs for urithane bushings are high :(... i know i've got a friend who had a partnership of sorts with prothane... he paid for the tooling of the bushings on a mkI mr2... don't know how much as he would never tell but it was his personal money... and he in turn had the rights to be the only person to sell them...

managment changed and they sold them to anyone who wanted them...

Not sure if its all the same or what ever... But that's what you can buy here in Australia for all the older and newer Subarus.

As for on the move adjustible camber.. I think just getting the camber and caster set close to right is a huge improvement to these old subies. Your gonna have to get pretty serious with your driving if you need to be able to set your camber different weather it be on the move or on a wheel alignment machine.
