installing front speakers on my hatch and noticed that the ecu isn't hooked up. runs ok but not as good as it could. hooked up the ecu and the check engine light that i didnt know i had came on. no idea how to get codes but connected some green connectors and the led on the ecu didnt come on. im stumped why some one would do this? its got AC but someone removed all of the stuff mabey thats why? its an 87 ea81

What?

Probally was Factory with a Feed-Back carb and someone has replaced carb with a standard one, then did a bit of wiring magic to get fuel pump to run.

 

My '82 BRAT was simular, was Factory W/Feed-Back carb, then someone tossed a carbed EA-82 engine in it. ECU was by-passed. Had to do the wiring trick myself so pump would run without a switch on the dash to power it.

maybe that would makes some sense because the lady i bought it from her son in law put a newish motor in it. how can i tell?
