Sonicfrog
You know the car - $500 87 T-Wag (digi to analogue, crappy 3A/T to FT4WD 5 speed swaps and stuff). You'll recall that I over-heated it last year while climbing the Gapevine in So. Cal. Some time after that I started to notice oil pressure issues. When the engine is cold the oil pressure is fine, idles at about 35 psi and runs at about 60. When it warms up the pressure at idle is about 10 to 15, and on the highway will varry between 30 and 40. I'm thinking oil pump, but I've never had one go out. Is this what they do when they buy the farm??? PS. I know I should have attacked this sooner, but I had to get Red, the $300 94 Alpine Wagon up and running. Then summer hit and it is too damned hot 'round here to spend the day under a hood if you don't have too!!!
nipper
I dont see anything wrong here. Are you using a real gauge, preferably mechanical? 10-15 at idle is actually very good. As the oil warms up it thins out. As it thinks out the pressure will be lower. If you ever get to see it in really cold weather, It can actually peg the gauge. nipper
