Hmm My friends 1897 Subaru GL-10 has a bad problem. Now when it gets hot, oil smoke starts pouring out from under the hood, i pop it, and its coming from the front of the engine, and oil is seaping out from the oil cap, and i cannot see any puddles, nor massive oil loss dipstick wise. Also he says it looses power badly, the oil light will flicker, and it will make some off rattling noise. Im wondering if the oil pump took a serious death or the main seal or what??

look around and find out where the oil is coming from. should be easy with that much smoke.

replace the PCV valve with a Subaru unit (only)

 

sounds like it's building crank case pressure.
