2K4 STI
My 87 RX with the Ea82T when warm idles at around 1200 rpms. How can this be adjusted? Can the linkage be adjusted or does the TPS control that? TIA
GlTurbo1987
there is a little screw by the throttle body that adjusts the idle speed... i had to partially remove the top manifold to get to it, but it isnt a big job
2K4 STI
This is one of those things that a pic would be worth a thousand words Where would this screw be located on the manifold?
j2coe
should be on the back of the intake manifold. behind where the crossover comes from the turbo, in a recess.
Skip
the screw sits in a vertical position only the slot is visible in the recess look behind where the turbo plenum (says "Subaru Turbo" on it) enters the intake under the plastic tube for the PCV lines

TheSubaruJunkie
Yeah a pic would be 1000 words in this case. The screw your looking for doesnt really look like a screw at all. Its not apart of the throttle body linkages like a normal idle adjust screw would be. If you look down at the intake manifold, what your looking for is a flat tip head that is threaded into the intake manifold itself (been so long, i cant remember exactly where). Anyhow, with the car running if you give it a 1/4 turn counterclockwise the engines idle speed should react immediatly. -Brian
