  1. Lots of pics and good info here http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=994282#post994282
  2. That my next venture is to completely pull the battery cables out, clean both ends till they sparkle like new and try again. At least my old Deftones cd popped out of the cd player ,LOL forgot it was even in there.
  3. So I decided to try the jump battery method first before running and getting a battery. With the cables hooked up to just the positive and negative leads "no battery in place" and the other end to my new bmw battery, it clicked for a second, like it was going to try and turn over then back to nothing at all. Now I'm not even sure a new battery is going to do the trick. Well partially since the old one is dead. Anything else to check?
  4. I was going to try the jump without the battery, but trying to convince the wife to hold the cables while I try and start it didn't go over so well,LOL Im just going to try a new battery and go from there.
  5. I did clean the terminals both positive and negative but did not know about the melted wire thing. I'll check that also. No rats or squirrels here to worry about.
  6. I'm pretty sure the battery is dead. I tried jump starting it with my BMW and it doesn't even make a sound.
  7. My 87 RX m/t has been sitting for a few months. I know the battery is dead but even if I try and jump start it, it doesn't even crank over at all. No key Chime,no lights or anything. I checked the fuses and replaced the fusable links and still nothing. Anything else I can look for? I would try and push start it ,but I live on a hill and if it doesn't start that way I have no way to get it back up. It has always ran great and did when I parked it last. Thank in advance
  8. You would still have to disconnect the heater hoses going to the firewall so you are still going to lose some coolant. On the flip side, sliding the trans back is not a very discreet way to do it either as you are going to be dealing with the gear oil from the trans.
  9. We are going to be starting the swap this week, so ill see how it goes. I'll post pics along the way.
  10. Yeah i know it took long enough. This week is the big swap week. Ill take lots of pictures and post them up each day as we progress

  14. We have it where i work also in quart sized bottles http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1946774
  15. For some reason I thought there was more to it. Thanks again suberdave
  16. Yeah that might help also. Lol It's my 87 RX that I'm swapping the EJ20 and WRX trans into
  17. What's the easiest way , if there is to swap to a hydraulic clutch setup? I'm going to be using the WRX trans for my swap but am still confused about where and how to mount the clutch master cylinder. Any advise is appreciated and as always pictures are awsome.
  18. I run the Subaru Factory Extra-S gear oil in the trans and Subaru LSD oil in the Rear diff on my RX. Its much better than whatever was in there from the previous owners
  19. The radiator is for a wrx. I'll have to notch the frame rails a bit to fit it. The turbo will be covered by a Cobb heatshield anyway LOL
  20. My trans now is in great condition, shifts smooth. Only needs new shifter bushings and that's it. Last fluid change was with factory Subaru Extra-S 75-90 gear oil and the fluid that came out looked good, no chunks or shavings. It only has 142,000 on it Keep an eye out for my for sale after I get everything out of the car.Just waiting to get the harness back and I should be ready to start swapping. I'll try and take as many pics as I can along the way.
