December 10, 200322 yr My Loyale, and all the ones here in Northern New Mexico that I see, the Left headlight is filled with condensation. I took the thing out and applied sealant around it's perimeter. Nada. Silly question, but any answers, it just really bothers me.:boohoo:
December 10, 200322 yr if its not cracked and you applied sealant around the glass/plastic edge then i'd say check the rubber gasket on the headlight itself where it screws into the assembly.. if thats worn or gone, it will draw moisture.. you can use a blow dryer to get the moisture out of the headlight assembly if ya take it off as well..
December 10, 200322 yr All four of mine tend to get condensation in the left headlight as well. It must be a design flaw that makes that one lose its seal over time.
December 10, 200322 yr My vote is for time and temperature over damage. My 19 year old Wagon had been idle for the 8 years prior to me buying it, and lightly driven the 11 years before that. (19 years and 41000 miles). The front leftmost light (there are four) worked on high beam only and was 1/3 full of water when I went to replace it, but there was no obvious damage to the lamp. So, now I assume that condensate seeped along the inside of a dried and shrunken 19 year old seal over several wet seasons and resulted in both the water and the filament failure.:cornfuzz:
December 10, 200322 yr Front left for you guys huh? .. Mine was front right.. yanked it out and replaced it. problem solved.
December 11, 200322 yr lol, i've never had that problem, but i'm remembering a story that one of my buddys told me. He had an old honda civic (pos) but his rear tailights gathered water in it. And when i say water, i don't mean condensation, i mean they were about halfway up on the light full of water. He tried and tried to open it and keep the water in it so he could start a little fish tank in his tail light, but to no success. The fish wouldn't have lived anways, no way to feed them. :-)
December 11, 200322 yr My right (pass side) XT taillight also fills up with water, anyone else here with that problem?
