November 3, 200718 yr I am asking on behalf of someone else who is to embarressed of what he did...but what will happen to the car when the battery (with some forceing) is hooked up the opposite way ... now after correctly hooking up the battery, the the car will not start, but only will turn over,over...will it damage the ecu
November 3, 200718 yr I don't lnow how yours is wired but some cars have a fusible link that will blow.
November 3, 200718 yr like they said check the fuses and fusible links. i guess this is an EJ vehicle. on the EA series hooking up the battery the wrong way may fry the ECU. it actually blows part of the fuel pump circuit inside the ECU so everything works fine by the engine got no fuel. i got one to run one time that had this happen by hard wiring the fuel pump.
November 4, 200718 yr Just be carefull not to drive the car more than 88 mph! I think only the XT/XT6 came equipped with the flux capacitor so you should be safe. Just check fuses and links, if i had a dollar for everytime i'd done this...well...i could buy a pie, and maybe a can of coke.
