EA82T exhaust on EA81 ??

Featured Replies

Will an EA82T up-pipe fit onto an EA81? I used to have two, but I gave them away thinking I would never need them!!

yes it will fit but its a little different then the actual EA81t header it has a O2 hole in the up pipe .

Nope, but a mono stack out of the hood woud be awesome! But I don't think the VA state police would let me get too far like that!

I was thinking of using the up-pipe for an exhaust on my N/A ea81 by removing the up-turn portion and running a single pipe all the way back. Using a new cat of coarse. It couldn't be any worse than a stock Y pipe ?!

I have done this swap. We wanted to bring the exhaust up from under our BRAT so we put an EA82T exhaust header on it. You'll need to put your studs in the other set of holes but other than that it should fit up. We plumbed ours into the engine bay and laid a cherry bomb muffler where the spare tire would go and exited the exhaust out our driver’s side fender. (we also swapped an EA81 into our BRAT as well, just so you know what engine we hooked it up to.)

Talk to Qman - he had one (with normal, rear fireing exhaust ) fabbed up to his lifted Brat running a hi-po EA81.

IIRC, he put a "U" shaped bend where the turbo would have gone and ran it out under the cross-member just like a stock y-pipe style exhaust. He said it took a lot of work, and probably wasn't worth it in the end.
