December 29, 200718 yr Sorry, make that an '05 Legacy. Typo This is my wife's car and first I have worked on it. I see the two threaded holes on the rotor car--so I assume that means I thread a bolt through there to pull the rotors off the hub?
December 29, 200718 yr If the rotors have never been removed, there should be 2 Phillips screws. Remove them and the rotor should almost fall off.
December 29, 200718 yr Author Again, sorry for typo, but it is an '05 Legacy. there is no Phillips screw. It looks like a threaded hole for a bolt to push the rotor off the hub. I'm looking for the bolt size.
December 30, 200718 yr Try a couple smacks with a hammer from the backside after you have the caliper bracket off. Sometimes the rust can hold them in place a bit. If you have new rotors to go on, feel free to get agressive. Or you could use the 2 bolts to push it off, your choice.

December 30, 200718 yr Yep, M8 bolts will help to push off a disc. I assume you know that the caliper support bracket has to come off too
