Fabbing locking fold up droor for GL wagon

Featured Replies

Got my camera stolen and need to make the fold up hatch in the back of my GL wagon locking. I am speaking of the folding up droor right on the trunk bed of the Wagons. I was thinking of putting an eye bolt up through the folding droor and then using a gym locker. Has anyone done this if so any suggestions.

I'm not sure what you're thinking of here, you mean drill a hole through the trunk pan for the eye bolt, run it through a hole drilled in the lid and put a padlock on it? I'm not a big fan of drilling holes in trunk pans, it's a good place for water (and rust) to seep in.

You could buy a hasp from the hardware store (the kind you would use on a shed door, cabinet, etc.) and install that on the lid. It's not pretty but it will just be a lump under the carpet when you're done.

If you really want to secure the lid to the trunk pan, and want something slick, you could probably adapt a locking hood pin to work.

Buy a safe that is mountable. Bolt it in the rear compartment somwhere. Thats what I did On my last car. No pix. I am going to be doing this soon to my gl-10

Its where I leave everything important when camping, road tripping or snowboarding ect
