Do you have a lack of power in your Weber Carburetor?

Featured Replies

Here is something you guys should look at. If you have a DGV or DGAV thats been on a car for a while and you think there is less power, I want you to look at the auxilliary venturies. Thats the piece where the fuel comes into the barrel of the carburetor. There is a brass tube there, which has a slot that ideally is pointing straight down. The tube can start to loosen and spin around. I have seen them pointing sideways, straight up, whatever. Sometimes the tube moves into the port in the side of the barrel where the fuel comes up to the auxilliary venturi.

So you have this problem you find out. So what to do. You have to take the top of the carb off. See if the aux venturi will slide out. It might be loose, it might be tight. It might have the tube moved into the carb itself. It has you say. So, you have to turn the carb upside down. You see the slot in the tube and it is not where it is supposed to be. So slide it back with a flat screwdriver. Then you can take the aux venturi out. So you have it out now. you can now be careful and put the end of the aux vent in a vise and stake the edge wher the tube and the aluminum are. Give it a couple whacks. It needs it. Reinstall and enjoy.
