unidentified puff of blue smoke

Featured Replies

this is the first time that i noticed this, but when i took a hard right turn today, i saw a relatively small puff of blue smoke come out. what is causing this?

PCV Most likely, there was a recall or TSB about that on the 90 or so loyales, but I have found it applies to a lot of different EA82 cars

do a search for it. A lot of people have this same problem and its been gone over many many many times before. I know there's a few people that have a homemade remedy for it but I can't remember who off the top of my head.

first off, is this oil being burned? second, any more info on this campaign? oh, and thirdly, is this hose work benneficial?

blue smoke is oil burning

white smoke is generally water being burned

black smoke is generally running way to rich on fuel

I know its slightly off topic...

How about Brown smoke? sometimes i see people pushing their cars from the lights and sees brown smoke.. what causes it?

Cheers

Tristan

Oil vapors also come out as white smoke, although not as thick as water burning white smoke. When Turbo seals go out, the oil gets into the hot exhaust gases and it vaporizes, but does not burn, and comes out as white smoke. :-) Figured that one out myself.....
