Just bought a 2.5rs coupe. WHat can i do with it?

Featured Replies

I bought a 2000 2.5rs coupe a few months ago. Ive been told you can do alot with them. The previous owner bought the car new. 2nd gear went out about 18 months after he bought it. Then the orginal motor blew at 70,000mi. I was wanting to swap in a sti motor with a 6speed trans. Has anyone done a swap like this before? Or any suggestions on what route i should go with the car i'd like to hear them.

its all bolt on for the coupe. i have a friend here that has a stock wrx 2.0l engine with the sti 6 speed trans and it is faster than most cars ive been in. doing it like that will be about half the price as a full sti swap.

just make sure to get the entire wiring harness from the donor car as well as the ecu and engine x-member. the only fabrication ,if i remember corectly, is the exhaust afterthe down pipe as the wrx exhaust doesnt exactly line up. i am actually running a home made 3" exhaust that came off of a wrx wagon a few years back. with borla headers and stock cats, the car looses a little bit on the low end but on the highway is much better than most other cat backs ive used.

the best exhaust size from what ive read and heard is 2.25" pipes and a good quality "sporty" muffler.
