where ya getting the dual range for an EJ?!

chris

any old EA82 D/R will do, use the adapter ring and a redrilled flywheel from a EA and modify the drive line and run Impreza FWD front axles:eek:  :) ,so instead of "EJ it" for the EA cars its "D/R it " for the EJ cars:grin:

don't forget the rear end. the one in there would be a 4.11 and you need a 3.90 for the DR. fortunally they came in tons of imprezas and 2nd gen legacys

can't wait to see it when your done

And Automatic 1st gen legacies and almost any 85-94 4wd non-turbo GL/Loyale

All have the same external splines, bolts right up.

all the first gen autos i have seen had 4.11s in them too. but that was the great part about having the sticker on the old ones, just look and see.

too bad they stopped doing that.

I can't wait to see the fenders peeled off of this one Scott!

The marker lights are already trembling!

Nope, check the FSMs

All first gen 4eats in Legacy were 3.9

Manuals were 4.11

i think you got that backwards. most manuals were 3.9 and most A/Ts were 4.11. later when outbacks came along A/Ts were 4.44 and manuals were 4.11. but first gens weren't as consistant.

but to be sure look here:

http://www.northursalia.com/techdocs/trannychart/trannychart.html

i used to have a book markj for another forums' post listing all the trans a/t and manual, but when my computer died last month i lost a lot of saved stuff. :dead:
