May 9, 200817 yr I replaced the head unit on my 97 Legacy last year and now want to start replacing the speakers. If I start off with one pair of speakers, should I do the front or rear? I have a sedan, if that matters.
May 9, 200817 yr I know that the fronts will be 6.5. If there are mounts in the rear doors, they are also 6.5.
May 9, 200817 yr Author Yup, so if I only have 1 pair to replace at the moment, would it be better to replace the fronts or rears?
May 9, 200817 yr Author I guess I'll do the fronts then. The rears are on the deck behind the back seat. They are also 6.5's.
May 10, 200817 yr i did all my speakers last year in my 96 legacy......the front door speakers are 10xs easier to do than the rears which are located in the deck lid.........i had a heck of a time trying to get the deck lid cover off in one piece....than after i did get it off the kid who had it before me i believe retrofitted 6x9s in there....if i were you if you dont have that much time i would replace the front.......i do def. notice a sound difference with my new speakers.......if your looking at a specific brand may i recommend sony.....every one else i talk to says sony is junk but i have never had a single problem....... 8 out of the 14 speakers in my legacy are sony and it sounds amazing.......
