I put a GCK axle on the Outback last July, put 11,000 miles on it and both the boots are shreaded:mad: :mad: . I bought it through Auto Zone but they are having a had time finding another axle :mad: .

Sorry that you're having trouble. I have heard rumors that the AutoZone axles are suspect. Take a look at this thread regarding MWE axles, maybe it'll help. Seems to have much better reviews:

Took about a day to figure out, but the guys at AZ couldn't get the GCK axle anymore so they subed out a Dur-a-last reman with a lifetime warrenty. Plus, I got back about $25 in price difference and core cost. So at this point I'm happy with the out come. I'll be really happy if this axle sees 100k.
