Gear gringing

Featured Replies

Sometimes at high rpm with the clutch fully depressed and i shift into second i get a quick grind. Its never done this before and it started last night. I havent checked the fluid level yet so that could easily be a possibility. any ideas why?

My first guess would be fluid level.

After that I would hit the peace pipe and commune with the Transmission Spirits in my car. They'll probably want something like Elixer Root, so off I'll go to the woods of Manadar for another adventure.

Your syncro's are dieing. They are a wear item. Replacement or rebuild of the trans is really the only permanent fix. You can try Redline brand gear oil - it will help some.
